Mark Sutton - Head Mechanic

DUCSHOP, established in 1992 specifically to meet demands for high-performance Ducati work, hinges on Mark Sutton's exceptional skills around Ducati motorcycles. His meticulous work and scrupulous attention to detail and dedication to customer satisfaction are underscored by the fact that he has experience with Ducati motorcycles equaled in the U.S. by no more than three others.

The trust and respect he's built with his customers and racers is second to none.

Mark knows that all mechanical and performance work is critical, from a basic 600 mile service through to full engine blueprinting, which is why he not only puts equal effort into every job, he charges equal rates for them too. So you can be sure you are getting Mark's best work every time your Ducati is in his hands, no matter what the model or the task.

His thorough approach to his work, and his deep knowledge of Ducati's extraordinary machines, come from 13 years of hands-on experience at all levels. He has raced Ducatis, built AMA Superbike race-winning Ducatis, and was trained in Bologna on the Superbike engine. His abilities go beyond engines to cover chassis, suspension and every other aspect of any Ducati model.

Lorin Tinkle - Technician
Lorin was hired by Performance Powersports in 1998 to work exclusively on Ducatis, where he was considered the best Ducati mechanic in the Atlanta area. He was also a certified Aprilia and Triumph technician. His meticulous nature makes him an ideal tuner for the Italian marque, and his fabrication skills and attention to detail show through on all his jobs – big or small.

Fabrication and machining are Lorin's forte. He often fabricates the hard-to-get Ducati parts that can hold up a job for weeks, which has helped dramatically with Ducshop's efficiency. His skills have also been valuable for the design and production of the Ducshop product line.

Previously Lorin freelanced as a car mechanic, opting for the more obscure cars like the original mini, Porsches, BMW 2002s and some artistic fabrication like the Austin Healy Sprite he hand carved aluminum parts for.

Wendy Hogg - General Manager
Running the day-to-day activities of Ducshop is Wendy's main role but event planning is her true love. She has conceived and worked on such events as Ducati Revs America, Pit Daddy , Ducati Women's Race School and Ducati Turismo. She has some wild ideas for Ducshop events, so stay posted to the website to see any up-coming activities that are sure to be fun. Click to read more.

In 2001 Wendy worked with Ducati North America to help them put together DRA in Las Vegas. She managed the press, worked with the international and local riders (yes, that is Troy Bayliss acting as her umbrella boy) and established two schools - a VIP school and the Women's Race School.

She spent two seasons as press officer to the HMC Ducati team and one season covering the racing for Ducati North America. Prior to that she spent a season in Europe with Yamaha's GP factory effort.

In Australia Wendy conceived and coordinated Women and Wheels, a full industry backed event that encouraged hundreds of women to take up motorcycling and further their riding skills. She ran loyalty tours for both Ducati and BMW, catering to hundreds of motorcycle enthusiasts and covering as many kilometers. And in 1999 she established and managed an all-women's road-racing team that finished third in its class in the nation's blue-ribbon endurance race.

Nathan Raptis - Parts & Accessories Manager
More than just a Parts and Accessories manager, Nathan brings with him a wealth of racing and machining experience. He has spent the last two seasons as fly in mechanic for the AMA Supersport / Superstock M4 Emgo Suzuki race team. Prior to that Nathan was the crew chief on his father’s sprint car race team that finished second in the 2003 USCS National Championship.

When his father retired from racing Nathan stayed on as Machinist apprentice, doing machining and welding in his father’s race shop, until coming to work for Ducshop.

Quiet and humble, we are often surprised by his all-round ability. And his passion for high performance motorcycles makes him a perfect addition to the Ducshop team.

Dick Protus - Performance Consultant
An electrical engineer by trade and gear head by heart, Dick is our resident fix and improve everything man. He oversees the set-up and maintenance of the dyno and few mechanics in Atlanta could match his knowledge on the latest Dynojet 250i. Click here for more

Dick Protus Though Dick owns an RC51, we forgive him because it's one of the few RCs that really sounds like a Ducati. With a bit of website instruction he pulled apart the engine and removed the quieting gears to better the sound and increase the horsepower. In college he was on the FSAE team running a car with a Honda 600F2 turbo charged engine in a chassis not much larger than a motorcycles. He designed the wiring harness and a custom fuel injection for the racecar as well as managing the data acquisition. This fuelled his racing interest and he and another team member have gone on to build the "VW51" - a VW Bug chassis powered by an RC51 engine.

By his demure appearance, one would never expect Dick to have been a novice motorcycle racer, nor would you ever suspect he owned a company called Big D Racing. But he has, and we're thankful that the motorcycle industry has captured his interest.

Tenzin
Guard dog she’s not, but no canine could give you a sweeter greeting than Tenzin.

A friend of Mark & Wendy’s found the two year old Siberian Husky roaming the streets of Atlanta and what began as a foster quickly turned into adoption when the entire staff fell in love with her.
