INTRODUCTION
DUCSHOP NCR Racing will be competing in the 2006 WERA National HW Twins championship on a Ducshop prepared NCR Millona R making them the first team to race the NCR MILLONA in America.

THE BIKE
The NCR MILLONA is one of few hand build production race bikes focusing primarily on minimizing weight. Powered by the famous Ducati 1000DS engine and weighing an astonishing 295 lbs, its power to weight ratio matches that of the top world factory race machines. What it gives up in horsepower it makes up for in lightness and agility, making it easy on the rider and tires.

In 2005 the NCR factor team won both the Italian Supertwins and Ducati Desmo challenge championships on the MILLONA. They dominated the field by winning eight of the ten races with no technical or mechanical problems, showing the MILLONA to be a very competitive bike in the two-valve class.

THE CHAMPIONSHIP
The WERA National Heavy Weight Twins Superbike Championship will be the playing ground for the DUCSHOP NCR MILLONA. We will be competing against stiff competition - competing for Ducati and Aprilia contingency money - but we feel the MILLONA has what it takes to win the crown.

Despite the MILLONA’s huge weight advantage it will still be considered the underdog because of its lack of horsepower to the rest of the field. But our secret weapon lies in the other strengths - namely our team.  

THE TEAM RIDER
America’s second most winningest Supersport racer, Mike Smith is one of the most well-known racers in the AMA and WERA paddock. From World GP500 to endurance racing, Mike brings with him a wealth of racing experience. Not to mention over 40 national wins to his credit. His ability to find the right set-up is second to none.

Mike and Mark Sutton teamed up in 2000 to contest the National Pro Thunder Championship on a Ducshop Ducati 748 and would have won but for track debris damaging the engine at the most crucial race.

CREW CHIEF/ENGINE BUILDER
Ducshop’s owner and former AMA Superbike engine builder and team manager, Mark Sutton, is renowned nationwide for his Ducati expertise and racers from all over America send their bikes to him to build and race prep. The NCR MILLONA has become one of Mark’s passions and he has already designed pistons and valves for its 1000DS engine. Pictured with Ohlins technical advisor Jörgen Johansson

MANAGER
There is little Brad Haynes doesn’t know about NCRs and Ducatis and what he doesn’t know, probably isn’t worth mentioning. Owner of the NCR race bike Brad will be in attendance at all the racers with a stop watch in hand and a prayer on his tongue.

PRESS OFFICER/COOK
On top of the zillion other tasks appointed her, Wendy Hogg will be reporting each race result and feeding the crew.
