DUCSHOP DOMINATES FRIDAY’S GNF
Ducshop Performance Center had an almost perfect Friday the 13th with four wins and five podium finishes by Ducshop supported riders at the WERA Grand National Finals at Road Atlanta.
The disappointment of having their star rider, Mike Smith, down with the flu was quickly overshadowed by a win in the 4-hour Lightweight Superbike endurance race by Touring Sport Racing riders Pete Friedland, Frank Shockley and Brad Phillips on a Ducati 1000SS. This was followed by Brian Stokes’ National Heavyweight Twins SB Championship win on Ducshop’s Aprilia Mille. Dennys Passeto finished third and Tom Esposito won the novice race. Esposito also ran away with the Heavyweight Twins Superstock Novice race.
Stokes crossed the finish line with a 17 second lead on the two Ducatis, claiming the HWTSB title for the second year running.
Should Mike Smith regain his health in time, Ducshop aims to enter the NCR Millona into several of this weekend’s AHRMA races at Barber Motorsports Park.
Ducshop would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped make this season’s race effort such a success and get the NCR race program off the ground; namely Brad Haynes, Tim Robinson, Frank Berns, Lewis & Trudy Guthrie, John D’Orazio, Daryl Conrad and all of our customers who have supported the team. Thanks also to the many riders who sport the Ducshop logo but especially to our two incredibly talented technicians, Lorin Tinkle and Zach Southard, who are responsible for many of the great results.
