01

Assess immediate danger

If a problem develops, stop riding as soon as you can do so safely. Follow local emergency guidance and move away from traffic when safe. If there is injury, fire, leaking fuel or immediate danger, contact emergency services. Do not put yourself in traffic to inspect the bike.

02

Describe the location and problem

Once safe, give the road name, direction, nearest landmark or mile marker and an accurate location. Describe what happened, warning indicators, visible leakage and whether the motorcycle can roll. Avoid repeated starting attempts when the cause is unknown.

03

Arrange suitable recovery

Tell the recovery provider the motorcycle model, luggage and any access issues. Confirm that the vehicle and equipment suit motorcycle transport. Follow the provider's safe waiting instructions. Do not accept a diagnosis or attempt a repair beyond your knowledge and the documented procedure.
