Read the storage section of the owner's manual. Identify the battery chemistry, fuel-system instructions and any required service. Record the storage dates and what was done. Ask for advice where the instructions or maintenance history are unclear.
Store clean, dry and supported
Clean and dry the motorcycle using its approved care method. Follow its tire, support and cover guidance. Use a secure, ventilated storage space. Protect the bike from avoidable moisture and contact damage; keep access available for permitted checks.
Reverse the plan before riding
Remove covers and any documented temporary protection. Check for leaks, deterioration, pest damage and overdue service. Restore the battery and other systems exactly as directed. Complete the manual's return-to-use checks and a pre-ride inspection before going onto the road.
