A convenient hole in a bracket is not automatically a transport anchor.
Use hooks explicitly designed for the motorcycle and transport purpose, with their specified mounting hardware. Model fitment does not replace checking the hook’s instructions, strap arrangement and the rest of the transport system.
Confirm the intended purpose and location
Tie-down accessories can replace or share particular mounting points. Check the exact model/year and the product’s supported use. A racing hook, luggage point or decorative opening is not automatically a motorcycle tie-down anchor. Do not assume a footrest bracket can accept additional loads without explicit support.
Read the hardware requirements
Confirm the supplied fasteners, spacers, installation orientation and any original parts retained. Bolt length and mounting engagement matter. Do not stack a tie-down hook with an unrelated accessory or substitute longer bolts unless the manufacturer supports that complete arrangement.
Plan straps and clearances together
Check that the specified hook can accommodate the intended strap connection without damaging bodywork, wiring, hoses or exhaust components. Follow the motorcycle, hook, strap and trailer or transport-system instructions. No generic hook size establishes a working-load rating or a complete restraint method.
Inspect the whole transport setup
Use equipment appropriate for the motorcycle and the transport platform. Have an experienced transporter resolve uncertain attachment points or procedures. Inspect hardware and straps as directed by their manufacturers and check for damage. Recheck the restraint arrangement according to the equipment instructions during transport.
