Better-looking lighting starts with the right function, mounting kit and electrical match—not just a smaller signal.

The starting point

Choose the exact front or rear function first, then confirm the motorcycle application, mounting adapters and wiring requirements. An LED signal is not automatically plug-and-play because its connector fits.

Start with the functions you need

A basic turn signal flashes amber. Other versions combine a turn signal with a front running light, rear running light or brake light. Those functions need the correct wiring and mounting location. A rear multifunction light is not interchangeable with a front signal simply because the housings look alike. Read the exact SKU description and instructions before choosing a pair.

Make a complete mounting plan

Check the original mounting opening, aftermarket bracket, stalk clearance and cable route. Fairing-mounted signals may need cover plates; a license-plate bracket may already include mounts. Rizoma lists model-specific mounting adapters, so do not assume an adapter for another model year will fit. A mounting plate does not necessarily include the electrical connector adapter.

Match the motorcycle’s electrical system

Record whether the bike currently has factory LEDs or incandescent bulbs and whether a flasher relay or control module manages the signals. Fast flashing, dashboard faults and incomplete sequential patterns need a system-specific diagnosis. Do not add a generic resistor kit to every LED conversion. Follow the lighting manufacturer’s instructions for the exact bike and existing front/rear combination.

Test the whole combination before riding

Confirm left, right and hazard operation, the full sequential pattern if equipped, running and brake functions, and dash warnings. Check clearance through steering travel and suspension movement. Resistors specified by the manufacturer can get hot and require its prescribed mounting precautions. If the instructions do not establish a compatible solution, have Ducshop review the parts before you order.

Quick comparison

Use this as a buying reference; exact product instructions determine fitment.
Signal choice What to verify
Single-function signal Front/rear application, amber output, mount and connector.
Multifunction rear light Separate turn, tail and brake functions; correct harness.
Sequential signal Electrical compatibility and completion of the full flash pattern.
Bar-end signal Handlebar interface, internal wire route and throttle clearance.

Before you order

Save these details with your parts plan.

  • Year, make, model and market version
  • Factory or aftermarket front and rear lights
  • Exact signal SKU, quantity and left/right requirements
  • Mounting plates, connector adapters and prescribed electrical parts
  • Road-use requirements for your state and application

Common questions

Do all LED signals need resistors?

No. The answer depends on the bike, control system, existing lights and the exact signal instructions. A resistor specification from a different motorcycle is not a fitment guide.

Does a matching plug prove compatibility?

No. The connector, wire functions, electrical behavior and mounting all need to match.
